I'm giving you guys a very deep dive to get this series kicked off! I live for the fringe players!! Cal Poly WR Michael Briscoe (6-1 205) deserves more attention. The Big Sky Preseason All-Conference selection is one of my fav FCS WRs. He is by no means a household name, unless you live in a house full of Pro Scouts! -- Which actually sounds kind of fun and terrible at the same time. Scouts are up on this kid, and you should be too! Hailing from Vacaville, California, the local product has been a steady presence for the Mustangs this year. Posting a 30-578-7TD line so far at just about the midway point of the season. He went 6-148 with 4 TDs in his first game of the year!

I like his versatility. He can play all of the WR positions, which helps his chances of eventually making an NFL 53. He has a strong frame, runs great routes, and he can win deep. In the 2024 season, he recorded 25 receptions for 538 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Big Sky Conference and ranking among the top 10 in the FCS with an average of 21.5 yards per catch. This year he is averaging 19.3 ypc.

Briscoe, a 6th year Senior, has had to overcome some injuries, including missing the entire 2022 season, but he has been coming on strong as of late. His knack for creating separation and his versatility in alignment make him a very interesting potential late round prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft cycle. As is the case with so many of these small school dudes, testing will be huge. All-Star play will be huge. Nothing will be handed to him, but he'll get an opportunity and I think he has the overall skillset to shine when called upon.
